Jill Waggoner is a name that is familiar to those who were fans of the Dallas Cowboys in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She's remembered as one of the internationally renowned Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Dr. Waggoner, a board certified family medicine physician, has practiced in the Dallas area since 1993. She holds a certification from the Cooper Institute in Preventive Medicine, sub specializes in Integrative medicine and is on the board of directors for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Family Clinic, Inc. In addition, she now adds to her list of accomplishments Medical Director for South Texas Medical Center.

Waggoner serves as the Medical Director for the Clinic. "I wanted to come back to this community because I am rooted here," says Dr. Waggoner. "I am a product of this community. It is alarming to me that African Americans and Hispanics have a higher morbidity and mortality for many of the chronic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension. A large part of the problem is our inaccessibility to quality healthcare. Our goal at South Texas Medical is to be a part of the solution to that problem"
