The early years of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders featured squads that consisted of both females and males. The coed squads were known as the Belles and Beaux. The all-female squads of the first decade (before the dream came true) consisted of high school girls. The world-famous uniform that the DCC now wear was introduced with the 1972 squad - thus most people consider that squad to be the "original" Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
